Why we built comparison pages
Evaluating helpdesk software is time-consuming. Feature matrices are hard to compare across vendor websites. Pricing pages hide the real cost behind "contact sales" buttons.
We built detailed comparison pages for the six helpdesks our prospects most often evaluate alongside Aurion CS. Each page covers feature comparisons, key differences, pricing breakdowns, migration guides, and frequently asked questions.
This post summarizes how Aurion CS stacks up across all six competitors — with links to the deep-dive pages for each.
The AI cost gap
The biggest differentiator is how AI is priced. Most helpdesks treat AI as a premium add-on:
| Platform | AI cost | Voice AI | |----------|---------|----------| | Aurion CS | Included in all plans | Included (SIP + WebRTC) | | Freshdesk | Freddy Copilot: $29-35/agent/mo | Separate product (Freshcaller) | | Zendesk | Advanced AI: $50/agent/mo | Talk (call routing only) | | Intercom | Fin: $0.99/resolution | No native voice | | Help Scout | AI Drafts (Plus plan) | No voice channel | | HubSpot Service Hub | Breeze AI (limited) | Basic calling (no AI) | | Front | AI compose/summarize | No voice channel |
For a 20-agent team using Freshdesk Pro with AI and voice, the monthly cost is approximately $1,980. The same team on Aurion CS Professional pays EUR 499/month — flat rate, all channels included.

Voice AI: the channel most helpdesks miss
Four of the six competitors have no native voice AI at all. The other two offer call routing to human agents, not AI-powered resolution:
- Freshdesk — Freshcaller is a separate product with separate billing. It routes calls to humans.
- Zendesk — Zendesk Talk provides IVR and call routing. No AI resolution on calls.
- Intercom — No native phone support. Third-party integrations available.
- Help Scout — Email and chat only. No voice channel.
- HubSpot Service Hub — Calling feature logs calls in the CRM. No AI on the phone.
- Front — Shared inbox platform. No voice capability.
Aurion CS's voice AI answers phone calls with sub-second latency, authenticates callers, searches the knowledge base, creates tickets, and resolves issues — all during a live conversation. The same AI that powers chat and email handles the phone.
Pricing models compared
Helpdesk pricing falls into three models:
Per-agent pricing (Freshdesk, Zendesk, HubSpot, Front): costs scale linearly with team size. Every hire increases the bill. AI and advanced features require higher tiers or add-ons.
Per-resolution pricing (Intercom): AI costs scale with success. The more issues AI resolves, the more you pay. At 1,000 resolutions/month, Fin costs $990/month.
Flat-rate pricing (Aurion CS, Help Scout): predictable costs regardless of team size. Help Scout starts at $50/month for up to 100 contacts; Aurion CS starts at EUR 199/month with no agent limits on AI.
| Scenario | Freshdesk | Zendesk | Intercom | Aurion CS | |----------|-----------|---------|----------|-----------| | 10 agents, Pro + AI | ~$990/mo | ~$1,590/mo | $290/mo + AI | EUR 499/mo | | 20 agents, Pro + AI | ~$1,980/mo | ~$3,180/mo | $580/mo + AI | EUR 499/mo | | 50 agents, Pro + AI | ~$4,950/mo | ~$7,950/mo | $1,450/mo + AI | Custom |

Where each competitor excels
We are not claiming Aurion CS is better at everything. Each platform has strengths:
Freshdesk — Mature platform with 60,000+ customers. Excellent marketplace with hundreds of apps. Well-documented API. Good choice if you need a proven, extensible helpdesk and do not mind per-agent AI costs.
Zendesk — Market leader with the broadest feature set. 1,600+ marketplace integrations. Enterprise-grade customization. Best for large organizations that need maximum configurability and can absorb the cost.
Intercom — Best-in-class chat experience. Fin AI is excellent at text-based resolution. Strong proactive messaging features. Ideal for SaaS companies where support is primarily chat-based.
Help Scout — Simplicity champion. The easiest helpdesk to set up and use. Beloved by small teams who value clean design over feature depth. Beacon widget is well-designed.
HubSpot Service Hub — Strongest when paired with HubSpot CRM. The unified customer view across marketing, sales, and service is unmatched. Best for teams already in the HubSpot ecosystem.
Front — Collaboration leader. Real-time shared drafts, @mentions, and team workflows are superior to any traditional helpdesk. Ideal for teams where email collaboration matters more than ticket operations.
Where Aurion CS wins
Aurion CS is the strongest choice when:
-
Your customers call. No other platform on this list offers AI-powered voice resolution. If phone support is a meaningful channel, Aurion CS is the only option that automates it.
-
AI costs matter. Flat-rate AI pricing means the cost does not scale with team size or resolution volume. A 50-agent team pays the same AI rate as a 5-agent team.
-
You need ITSM + CS. Aurion's Voice Agent integrates with Freshservice, HaloITSM, ServiceNow, and Jira SM for internal IT support. Aurion CS handles external customer service. One platform for both.
-
EU data residency is required. All data is hosted on AWS Paris (eu-west-3). No negotiation needed for EU hosting.
-
You want simplicity with depth. Modern interface, quick setup, but full helpdesk features: SLA management, CSAT surveys, workflow automation, knowledge base, omnichannel inbox.
Migration is gradual, not big-bang
Every comparison page includes a migration guide. The pattern is the same across all six competitors:
- Start with voice. Route your phone number to Aurion CS. Voice AI starts handling calls immediately. Your existing helpdesk keeps running for email and chat.
- Sync contacts. Import contacts from your current platform. Aurion CS integrates directly with Freshdesk and Zendesk as CS providers.
- Migrate KB. Export articles and import them into Aurion CS. The LLM-powered article creator handles the formatting.
- Add channels. Connect email, add the chat widget, configure WhatsApp.
- Decommission. Once all channels are on Aurion CS, cancel the old platform.
No big-bang migration. No downtime. Run both platforms in parallel as long as needed.

- How does Aurion CS compare to Zendesk?
- Zendesk's Advanced AI add-on costs $50/agent/month on top of per-agent Suite pricing. Aurion CS includes AI in every plan at a flat rate. Zendesk has a broader feature set from 20 years of development, but Aurion CS offers a simpler, AI-native alternative with built-in voice AI.
